Detailed Description

Xilinx World Wide IT, Global Operations department is looking for a Systems  / Storage Administrator to join the Back Office Systems group supporting the business application systems environment.  The ideal candidate will design, implement and administer enterprise systems, monitor and enhance system performance, provide general tools support and systems integration.  Furthermore, this person will be responsible for day to day operations support & collaborating globally on efforts for various IT activities related to the Xilinx business application system environment, in accordance with World Wide IT strategies and objectives. 

Other key responsibilities: 

Maintain and monitor production systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
Produce and analyze metrics for servers and storage to ensure uptime, potential performance enhancements & optimal utilization of resources
Effective management of customer and vendor relationships, roadmaps, architecture and budget forecasts

Job Requirements

6-8 years of hands-on technical experience designing, implementing and managing storage and backup technologies with Symantec NetBackup for enterprise infrastructure with 500+ physical / virtual servers and petabytes of NAS/SAN storage.

Technical understanding of storage infrastructure with NetApp

Unix / Linux administration skills.

Experience in data migration involving NAS and D2D data.

Experience with VMWare and particularly in backup technologies and approaches for virtualized environment would be desirable or nice to have.

A strong commitment to following and improving processes and procedures

Experience with policies for backup retention and disaster recovery, implementation, reporting.

Experience with SOX, ISO 9000 or ITGC audits for backups, restore and disaster recovery in an enterprise IT environment.

Experience supporting a 24x7 high-availability production environment

Technical documentation ability would be desirable.

Self-motivated and able to manage self-imposed deadlines / responsibilities

Effective collaboration with first-line IT support staff, end users and other IT teams is expected

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
